Chairside is free while it is in beta, offered as-is, and stores your records only on your own device. Those three facts drive everything below.

Before publishing — needs a human These terms describe how the software actually behaves. They are not legal advice and have not been reviewed by a lawyer — the liability and governing-law clauses in particular should be. 1 · Who you are agreeing with

Chairside is published by [TO CONFIRM — legal entity or trading name] ("we", "us"), based in Malaysia. Using the app or this website means accepting these terms. Contact: [TO CONFIRM — contact email].

2 · It is not a medical device

Chairside is a record-keeping and income-tracking tool. It does not diagnose, screen, calculate doses, interpret images, or recommend treatment, and it must not be relied on to do any of those things. Every clinical decision remains yours, made on your own professional judgement.

The tooth chart, treatment plans and orthodontic staging are places to write down what you have decided and observed. They are not clinical advice and carry no clinical opinion of ours.

3 · Your professional and legal obligations stay yours

You remain responsible for meeting the rules that apply to you as a clinician. That includes, without limitation:

keeping patient records for the retention period your regulator requires, and being able to produce them;
your duties to patients under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 or the equivalent law where you practise — including telling patients how their data is handled;
the record-keeping and conduct standards of the Malaysian Dental Council, or your own registering body;
keeping the device secure, and acting on the loss or theft of a device that holds patient records;
the accuracy of anything you enter, including consent forms you generate and have signed.

Chairside helps you do these things. It does not do them for you, and using it is not evidence that you have.

4 · Your data, and the fact that we cannot help you recover it

Records live on your device and nowhere else. We hold no copy. This is the point of the product, and it has a hard consequence: if you lose the device, forget the PIN, or clear the browser's storage, the data is gone permanently. We cannot reset a PIN, recover a record, or restore anything, because we have never had it.

Exporting a backup regularly, and keeping it somewhere you trust, is your responsibility. Once a backup or CSV leaves the app it is entirely in your hands — including whatever cloud storage you place it in.

5 · Beta, price and availability

Chairside is in beta and free to use. Pricing will be decided at version 1.0 and will be stated publicly before it applies to anyone. Nothing here obliges us to keep the software available, and features may change or be withdrawn between releases. Because the app runs on your device, a version you have already installed keeps working offline regardless of what happens to this website.

6 · Acceptable use

Use Chairside lawfully and for its purpose. Do not attempt to use it to store data you have no right to hold, and do not present its output as something it is not — for example, an anonymised portfolio export is anonymised by removing names, dates of birth and registration numbers, but you are still responsible for checking that a case cannot identify a patient before you show it to anyone.

7 · No warranty

The software is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet a particular regulatory requirement in your jurisdiction.

8 · Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost records, lost income, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the software. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. 9 · Third-party software

The typefaces bundled with Chairside — Fraunces, Plus Jakarta Sans and JetBrains Mono — are used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The licence is included at /Chairside/fonts/OFL.txt. The app has no other third-party dependencies.

10 · Changes

Material changes to these terms are dated at the top of this page and published before they take effect. Continuing to use Chairside after that means accepting them.

11 · Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [TO CONFIRM — Malaysia assumed], and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction.
